HSV vs. Mainz - Preview

The math is quite simple for HSV with 2 rounds before the end of the season: they win today against Mainz and they are safe. They were playing quite an entertaining football since Fink took charge of the team but, despite that, they never got it going. They have only 2 wins in their last 10 games but some improvement was showed in the last 2 rounds, managing to gather 4 points after the clashes against Hannover and Nurnberg. Fink will rely on attacking duo Petric – Guerrero today and they are a recognized force in Bundesliga. Only long term injured Kacar, Ilicevic and Rajkovic will miss for the hosts today.

Mainz are safe for relegation after winning 2 points in the last two rounds and the season is quite over for them. Coach Tuchel stressed he will not try any experiments ahead of today’s game but it’s hard to believe the players will be 100% focused after securing another Bundesliga presence for the next year. Risse, Svensson and Zabavnik are long term injured for the visitors, while Bungert, Caliguri and Fahti are big doubts for today’s game.

This is mainly a motivational bet but, at the odds, is worth being tried since this factor could prove to be decisive in deciding the outcome of this game at the end of the season.
