Poland vs. Russia - Preview

Poland always had some quality players and some well known ones but have never shown what they can do as a team. They regulary just show mediocre performances and the one against Greece was the same. They had the lead and a man more on the field which should have pointed the game in one direction but they created little chances and gave the initiative to the Greeks who were willing to give their best. We could say it it was the opening game pressure but we could also say they forgot how to play a competitive game as the last one they played was some 2,5 years ago. Against Russia they are clear underdogs. The Russians have shown the most so far and are a real contender. The team is homogenous in defense and creative in attack making intriging passes around the 25 yards. It looked great against the Czechs and if the strikers were more effective(Kerzhakov) it could have easily ended 6:1. Players like Shirokov, Dzagoev, Arshavin are in great form from the start and I just don`t see how the home team would stop them. Away win.
